03; The game begins

“What do you know about Park Raeyeon?” Yonghwa asked as Jungshin appeared in front of him. Jungshin frowned. “You’re interested in the Ice Princess?” he asked and took a sit. “Oh come on,” he paused and leaned closer to Jungshin. “You know my work,” he said. Jungshin laughed. “Of course..Here’s all the information I have,” he muttered while handing Yonghwa the documents. “She’s different than her father. She’s more to the kind type but cold.” Yonghwa looked at Jungshin for a while before settling his eyes on the document. “Her treatment was friendly enough with me,” He flipped the papers. “Ideal guy?” he laughed. “Yah! What’s this?” “I fit that title perfectly,” Jungshin started to boast. “She loves tall guys,” he pointed to himself. “Get yourself a girlfriend already,” Yonghwa exclaimed as he lightly hit Jungshin’s arm with the documents. “Thanks..” he stood up. “Yonghwa.” “Hmm?” “Don’t trust me. I mean it,” Jungshin muttered solemnly. “I know,” Yonghwa grinned. When he was

Park Shinman stared at the picture in his hand. “Pyojin,” he muttered and cupped his face with his hands. “Please forgive me,” he whispered. The sins he had done to his dear friend. He will never forgive himself for that. The guilt he had will haunt him to his grave.                                             All of a sudden, the memories of them swiftly pass his mind. It feels like it was just yesterday he had known Kang Pyojin. The pain and laughter they shared together were such bliss. Somehow, a knock on the door snapped Shinman back to reality. “You called for me, appa?” Park Raeyeon entered the room after knocking twice. “We’re going to Hyejin’s birthday party. Wear something pretty,” it was more like an instruction rather than an invitation. Shinman had always being cold on Raeyeon. He wasn’t sure why himself. Raeyeon bowed and excused herself to her room. 13 years later. Kim Seon Jun sat on his luxurious sofa and laughed his heart out. He had cheated his enemy. The happiest happened that day was that. In this mafia world, they had to turn their backs on each other in order to know who the best is. Same goes to Seon Jun. He, himself had took the most precious paintings from the Lee family and surprisingly, he got a lot of cash out of it. How much lucky he must be? ‘”Like they say, everyman is the architect of his own fortune,” he smiled satisfiedly when his gaze fell on the table stack with cash. With a last look, he unbuttoned his shirt and went to have a bath. While he showers, he thought of every circumstance that might come his way. He knew someone would come and steal away his money. He had to worry eventhough the cash is now in his hands. Lee Hwangkie, to his enthusiasm, was having an affair with the museum lady. That’s how he got to buy the piece with a low price. Apparently, Seon Jun had stolen it. How he stole it? He had hir

Prologue

Park Shinman stared deeply to the man who stood before him. He was disappointed. What should he do now? He had to kill him. That was the order. Kang Pyojin smiled calmly and bent down to kneel. He trusted Shinman. He was a good friend and always be. He didn’t mind being killed by him. He knew, for his reckless attitude, Wong Shitake would send his people to kill him. Definitely he sensed it would be his own bestfriend to hunt him. That’s just as dirty as Wong himself. “You should have run away,Pyojin,” Shinman muttered as he pointed the gun to his dear friend. “If I run, he’ll threaten to kill my love ones, including you,” Pyojin bid. “I don’t want to kill you,” Shinman stated firmly. Pyojin was such a dear to him. They went through a lot together. They joined the mafia together. Unexpectedly, their leader, Wong Shitake, had instructed him to kill Pyojin. “You should have run away when you have the chance,” he said with glitters in his eyes. Pyojin got a grip of Shinman’s gun. “Ju
